This Vegan Taco Pizza recipe is a unique and delicious combination of pizza and tacos, featuring a soft and fluffy pizza crust topped with a flavorful and protein-packed taco filling made with black beans, vegetables, and taco seasoning. The pizza is then finished off with vegan cheese, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro. The recipe takes about 35-45 minutes to make and serves 2-3 people as a main course or 4-6 people as an appetizer.

Ingredients

  • For the Pizza Dough:

1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

    1/2 teaspoon of salt

      1 tablespoon of active dry yeast

        1/2 teaspoon of sugar

          1/2 cup of warm water

            1 tablespoon of olive oil

            • For the Taco Filling:

            1 can of black beans

              1/2 red onion, diced

                1/2 green bell pepper, diced

                  1/2 red bell pepper, diced

                    1/2 cup of corn kernels

                      1 tablespoon of olive oil

                        1 tablespoon of taco seasoning

                          Salt and pepper to taste

                          • For the Pizza Toppings:

                          1/2 cup of tomato sauce

                            1/2 cup of vegan cheese

                              1/2 cup of diced tomatoes

                                1/4 cup of chopped cilantro

                                  Instructions 

                                  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C).
                                  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, active dry yeast, and sugar. Mix well.
                                  • Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms
                                  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for a few minutes.
                                  • Roll out the dough to fit a 12-inch pizza pan. Place the dough on the pizza pan and set it aside.
                                  • Drain and rinse the can of black beans. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
                                  • Add the diced red onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
                                  • Add the black beans, corn kernels, taco seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and cook for a few more minutes.
                                  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough.
                                  • Sprinkle the vegan cheese over the tomato sauce.
                                  • Add the taco filling on top of the cheese.
                                  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
                                  • Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle the diced tomatoes and chopped cilantro over the top.
                                  • Slice and serve hot.
